Hi, I’m Melinda Roberts. I’m retired.

A little history: I was one of the first mommy bloggers; I launched themommyblog.com in 2002, and wrote millions of words until 2013, when the kids were too old for me to be telling their stories and it seemed time to move onto something else. I shifted my focus to books, and on launching a network for women new to the US with some awesome partners.

For ten years, I wrote about our young (and getting older) family, and the first half of that period was published in the book, Mommy Confidential: Adventures from the Wonderbelly of Motherhood.

After my divorce in 2005, it became a little dicier to write about the family. Then when I remarried in 2012, it became flat-out impossible. Not for lack of material—oh, no—but because the kids were getting old enough to care what they or their friends might read online, and because the mother of my stepchildren had strong feelings about my never talking about her children. As it’s impossible to write about half a family while pretending the other half doesn’t exist, it was like chopping off my hands.

So, instead, I wrote a book about divorcing with children. It’s getting five-star reviews, check it out: 42 Rules for Divorcing with Children: Doing It with Dignity & Grace While Raising Happy, Healthy, Well-Adjusted Children.

Many, many thanks to those who have been here all these years; many of you have become like family to me. A stunted, politically incorrect and perfectly damaged family, but those are the most fun, anyway.
