It was rainy and cold and miserable this morning as Guy got up for work. I listened as he went through his routine: shower, comb hair, shave, dress. He slipped on a belt and walked over to kiss me goodbye.

“You know, now that you have clothes that actually fit, you’ve got this kinda sexy walk going on.”

“Yeah? That’s a good thing, right?”

“No. It’s annoying.” I started doing featherbed angels, because I didn’t have to get up yet. I sat up and watched him walk toward the bedroom door. “Also? It’s kind of embarrassing.”

He started down the stairs. “You know, that was a level of escalation you didn’t have to add.”

From the downstairs hall: “No, you wouldn’t.”
