About the Soup Chef

Melinda is a mom with a lot of technical expertise, a lot of kids, and just enough knowledge and dedication to pull all of that together into Pear Soup.

Pear Soup is dedicated to the outrageous things our kids say. Unlike adults, there are completely unpredictable. For example, we can safely predict that I will not be overheard saying the following:

"God, I wish there were more to life than drinking Margaritas, reading trashy novels, and enduring my husband's hour-long foot rubs."

"I really wish that Clive Owen would stop calling when I'm in the middle of my online crossword."

Kids! Stop with the vacuum already! I can't concentrate!"

When we think of pears, we think of something sweet, and cool, and comforting. It is the shape we make when our children hug us around our knees. It's how things go sometimes, but we wouldn't have it any other way. It's a pear-shaped world, and we love it.

Each quote on Pear Soup is genuine (we couldn't possibly make this stuff up) - an archive of children's bloopers and honest revelations. Even if they don't seem especially funny today, they will be funny someday. Trust me.
